Residential Solar Components India: Panels, Inverters and Wiring Explained
By Sanvi Solar · 21 September 2026
A home solar system needs panels, an inverter and wiring that work together. Here is what to understand and check before accepting a residential quote.
Start with the system, not just the panel brand
For a homeowner in Andhra Pradesh, a solar quotation should explain more than the panel name. Panels generate direct current electricity from sunlight, the inverter converts it into alternating current used by household appliances, and wiring connects the equipment. The mounting structure supports the panels, while suitable electrical protection and connections are also important parts of the installation.
These components need to be selected together. Roof space, shade, electricity use and the existing electrical arrangement all affect the design. A brand list alone cannot tell you whether a proposed system suits your home. Ask for the proposed equipment models and a clear explanation of how the main components will work together.
Before requesting a quote, keep a recent electricity bill available and note any roof shading or plans to add appliances. Also explain whether you want daytime generation, backup during power cuts, or both. These are different requirements and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Panels: check the model, layout and warranty
Sanvi Solar supplies Adani, Waaree, Tata and Renewsolar panels. These are available brand options, not a ranking. Rather than choosing by brand name alone, ask which specific panel model is proposed and how the planned layout fits your roof. The quotation should make it clear what equipment you are being offered.
Panel placement matters because shade can reduce generation. Ask how nearby buildings, trees and rooftop features have been considered. It is also useful to understand how the layout allows access for inspection and cleaning without making assumptions about the suitability of every part of the roof.
The standard stated panel warranty is 25 years, subject to the written manufacturer warranty. Read what that period covers rather than assuming it means every possible repair or replacement is included. Ask whether product defects and performance have separate terms, what exclusions apply, and which documents you should retain for a claim.
Inverters: understand the proposed function
Inverter options may be Polycab, Waaree, Deye or X Watt. The appropriate choice depends on the proposed system and household requirements, not simply the brand. Ask for the exact model and an explanation of its compatibility with the selected panels and the home's electrical arrangement.
Do not assume that installing solar will keep appliances running during a power cut. A typical grid-connected system shuts down when the grid supply fails for safety. Backup requires a system designed for that purpose and may involve batteries and additional equipment. The quote should explicitly describe any backup capability rather than leaving it implied.
The standard stated inverter warranty is 8 years, with actual coverage subject to the written manufacturer warranty. Confirm the applicable terms for the quoted model. Also ask where the inverter will be installed, how its placement meets manufacturer requirements, and what steps to follow if it displays a fault.
Wiring: ask about suitability and routing
Wiring may be Polycab or Finolex. A cable brand is only one part of the decision: the selected cable must suit its electrical duty and installation conditions. The solar-side and household-side connections have different requirements, so the quote should not leave all cable details unexplained under a single general label.
Ask the installer to explain the cable route, how exposed sections will be protected, and how cables will be supported. Connections, earthing and electrical protection should be addressed as part of the system design. Homeowners do not need to calculate cable sizes themselves, but they should know that these choices require proper electrical assessment.
Avoid attempting solar wiring changes yourself. If you later alter the roof or household electrical installation, tell the person doing that work about the solar system before work begins.
Read the complete residential quote
Sanvi Solar residential quotes include GST, installation, mounting structure and wiring. Net meter and extra approvals are excluded unless specifically stated. Check whether these excluded items are relevant to your proposal and ask for their treatment to be recorded clearly. Do not assume that an installation quote includes every separate process or charge.
Quote validity is 7 days. Review the equipment models, scope of work and written warranty terms within that period. Any discussed backup arrangement or other additional requirement should appear explicitly in the agreed scope. Keeping the quote, invoice and manufacturer warranty documents together will also make later questions easier to resolve.
When you are ready, request a home-specific quote from Sanvi Solar to understand the proposed components and scope for your roof and electricity needs.
